OMC Olathe Medical Center, Inc. is Hiring a Remote Pulmonary Function Technician

Position Title Pulmonary Function Technician Olathe Medical Center The Doctors Building 1 (MOB 1 & 2) 20375 W. 151st St. Position Summary / Career Interest: The position of Pulmonary Function Technician has an educational background in respiratory therapy with specialized training in pulmonary function diagnostics. Performs routine and specialized pulmonary function tests, calibrates and maintains equipment to manufacturer and department standards, and cleans and disinfects equipment and surfaces to hospital and department standards. Responsibilities: Perform pulmonary function tests (spirometry, lung volumes, lung diffusing capacity, arterial blood gas draws, six-minute walk test, cardiopulmonary exercise test, and other tests as specified) according to ATS and department standards. Perform user maintenance on equipment and perform calibrations on equipment according to manufacturer and department procedures. Trouble-shoot equipment malfunction and take appropriate action to bring equipment back to operational standards. Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes cardiopulmonary equipment according to hospital and department standards for infection control. Performs regular administrated tasks of the pulmonary function lab including patient scheduling, registration, and telephone support. JOB REQUIREMENTS Required Associate's Degree in respiratory care (or equivalent military training program) Certified in BLS within 30 days of hire Respiratory Therapist (RT) license from the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months of their employment date Basic computer knowledge Preferred Two years experience in respiratory therapy or completed practicum in pulmonary function testing as part of respiratory therapy curriculum or one year experience in full-service pulmonary function lab Time Type: Full time Job Requisition ID: R-33170 We are an equal employment opportunity employer without regard to a person’s race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity and sexual orientation), national origin, ancestry, age (40 or older), disability, veteran status or genetic information.
